- Lectured in teacher education for 25 years in various Australian Universities.

- Public Speaker in the areas of professional and personal leadership.
- Undertook leadership training with The On-Purpose School for Leaders in the USA.
- Developed a passion for the areas of personal leadership development and training since 1991.
- Life Coaching Accreditation from The On-Purpose Partners (US) and Future Achievement International.
- Has conducted On-purpose Programs, corporate training and individual mentoring for the past six years.
- President, BNI 2002 (Business Networking International), Gateway Chapter, Brisbane
- Has runs a 35 week Personal Leadership Course for Men for the past five years.
- In 2000 retired as Senior Lecturer from academic life to establish On-Purpose Life Academy. He has now trained eight Associates (On-Purpose Partners)
- Edward has been married to Angela for 35 years and has wide and varied interests including family, music, boating and sport.
