What is the On-Purpose Fresh Start Coaching Program?

The On-Purpose^® Fresh Start Coaching Program is a new and innovative approach to alcohol recovery and rehabilitation that has been developed by Dr. Edward Gifford and Mrs Angela Gifford, in conjunction with FSP.

It is based on the work of Kevin W. McCarthy from Orlando, Florida in the U.S.The Giffords are highly respected and experienced life coaches who possess long track-records of successfully assisting people in turning their lives around. Unlike typical "rehab" counseling sessions, the On-Purpose^® Fresh Start Coaching Program addresses the specific needs of those suffering with alcoholism with a focus on the development of a new alcohol-free life plan for the future.

It will provide hope, motivation and strategies for you to change your life and to make a new beginning. Above all, it will help get your life back to a Fresh Start.

How will The On-Purpose® Fresh Start Coaching Program Work?

You will commence the On-Purpose "Fresh Start" Coaching Program approximately four to five days after your Naltrexone implant. Your carer will normally attend with you. There will be three half day sessions – two in the first week and the third, at the end of your second week. You and your carer will be expected to complete some life planning exercises during weeks one and two.

It needs to be understood that this process will be on-going and that the coaching and life planning sessions will be just the beginning of your Fresh Start Life Plan. Clients and their carers are strongly encouraged to continue the process when they return home. Once you return home, we will continue partnering with you for another three months via phone, email, web cam or Skype.It will be your choice to continue the coaching relationship after the three months coaching period has been completed.

One-on-one interaction – In a typical addiction treatment center, recovery sessions take place in large groups. The On-Purpose^® Fresh Start Coaching Program is conducted through a series of private sessions that involve only the patient, their accompanying recovery partner and the On-Purpose® treatment professional.Our experience has taught us that these individualized and highly focused sessions are vastly more effective than group therapy.
Alcohol addiction-specific therapy – In most treatment facilities, alcoholics attend group sessions with patients suffering with a variety of addictions ranging from pharmaceutical painkillers to heroin. The psychological drivers of these addictions vary widely, and as such, group treatment cannot focus on the needs of any one addiction group. This lack of targeted attention to the specific needs of the alcoholic results in a highly ineffective form of treatment.The On-Purpose^® Fresh Start Coaching Program was designed to provide a recovering patient with the specific tools required to build and maintain a future free from alcohol.
Eliminating the craving for alcohol allows for full patient engagement in the On-Purpose^® Fresh Start Coaching Program – Traditional alcohol treatment programs are an uphill battle for the patient.
