Train to be a Manager–Coach

The Need to Equip the Manager as Leader-Coach

This training workshop has been designed to further develop your management and leadership skills.

There is an increasing demand to equip managers as coaches so they can better meet the growing needs and challenges in the workplace.

In an ever developing ‘age’ of purpose and meaning, there needs to be a fundamental change in the way managers deal with people.  People today want to be “coached” not “managed” thus there is a shift away from the leadership style of command and control to a “coach approach”.

Bill O’Brien demonstrates this point well.

‘There are two fundamental differing views of human nature and work.  The “objective view” seeks work as a source of economic means.  The “subjective view” is concerned with the effects of work on the person.  By the early 21st century, quality will become a commodity, and companies will be distinguished by the wholeness of their people.’

You as a modern manager have increasing demands and expectations placed upon you.  Some of these may include:

  • Being a leader-coach
  • Being a HR specialist!
  • Being able to communicate the organisation’s strategic plan to the employees and co-workers
  • Helping develop the skills and positive attitude in people to deliver the plan,
  • Responding to the ever increasing demands of technology and systems innovations, and
  • Having appropriate strategies to measure employee performance.

Leaders and managers need to understand that the success of any organisation is directly proportional to the quality of its people.  Build your people and you will build a successful organisation.  Coaching is an excellent way of developing the skills and positive attitudes of employees within the workplace.

The Manager-Coach Training Program

  • This is a two day intensive Introduction to Coaching for Managers, wanting to develop their coaching skills
